Lawsuit Alleges Douglas Emmett Systematically Refused to Pay Wages

On May 10, 2018, Anthony W. Ford filed a class action lawsuit against Douglas Emmett Management, LLC (Douglas Emmett). In the lawsuit, it is alleged that Douglas Emmett systematically refused to pay wages for overtime work, failed to provide legally mandated meal and break periods, and failed to reimburse employee expenses.

Los Angeles, CA: The research website,, a project of Operating Engineers, Local 501, today released data and primary records on over 500 companies from over 40 international jurisdictions linked to Qatar’s ruling Al Thani family and the nation’s sovereign wealth fund, the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). An accompanying data table for the records details assets and holdings for many of the entities.

Sherman Oaks Tenant Sues Douglas Emmett for Breach of Contract and Misrepresentation over Electricity Charges

A tenant at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, located at 15301 Ventura Boulevard, filed suit against Douglas Emmett and a related party for allegedly overcharging $490,000 in electricity bills due to the building’s malfunctioning electricity submeters. The plaintiff claims that Douglas Emmett and a related party made knowingly false misrepresentation about the submeters over the course of a decade—always insisting that they were working properly.
